Sometimes when we take the leap, like we talked about last post, we make a mistake… Or do we? Life is not about always being right. It is about learning to be right. Learning the lessons HE sets before us. Learning that, though the times get hard, and we may make mistakes in the three main aspects of life (Health/Wealth/Relationships), all things work out for our best interest. When we stop to realize that “Hey, I may not be perfect, but I am still going to move forward with my life.” ; we become liberated from those feelings of regret.
Regret is a funny thing. There are legitimate things that it is understandable to regret. If you committed a heinous crime we should regret it, but there is a kicker… Do we let that regret we have start to define us? Do we let our past deeds be how we think of ourselves, and present ourselves to others? Is that stagnant, negative, past event always in your mind?
Maybe not. Maybe, by some snap revelation, you realize one day that: “You know what? That is in the past! That is who I was who I was! That is not who I choose to be today, and I know that I DO CHOOSE who I want to be!” . Congratulations! You have made the choice to be bigger than you use to be. You decided to be something more. Wow… awesome!
So, what regrets do you have? They can be something as big as that heinous crime, or as small as losing your temper in traffic. Look at them for what they are: learning experiences. No one can learn your lessons for you. You have to decide to either pick yourself up, and keep moving forward, or be stuck in your same old muck.
To live a life without regret is to live the life of a student. Be ever learning, ever growing, ever changing, and maturing. A true student of life will understand that regret will only take you farther from where you want to be. Have a great day, and enjoy!
